Welcome to Oakwood Park Showground

This is oakwood park's fith season of running shows. time seems to fly by when you are having fun eh?
Last years shows continued to go from strength to strength building on the good reputation we have built up over the years. Each year brings with it more successful shows, better attendance and, well ok not better weather, but lets keep our fingers crossed for some dry and sunny shows this year.

Our aim is to continue to run a lot of our own unaffiliated shows with a massive emphasis on "fun". We firmly believe that everyone should enjoy a day at a show and we aim to maintain a happy and friendly environment.
We shall continue to add more affiliated shows this year, thus catering for those wishing to progress toward the big annual shows such as HOYS. As with previous years we are hosting events for other groups, notably the b.s.p.s. area 14 show. It was necessary to postpone last year's show by a week to allow the ground to further dry out after some very heavy downpours. The show was a great success due to the hard work and professionalism of the area 14 committee.

This year we have decided to change the charities we are collecting for and have opted to raise funds for the "trevor mann baby unit" at the royal sussex hospital. Their work there is invaluable and they have helped numerous babies live despite the odds being stacked against them. Earlier this year triplets were born 100 days early to a local family; these three little girls spent the first 6 months of their lives in high dependency.
The cost of keeping each child alive is astronomical and the total bill for these three little girls will probably run into millions. Though we cant hope to raise sufficient funds to cover these costs we do hope to be able to raise enough funds in order to purchase some much-needed equipment for the unit.
We hope you will agree that this is a very worthy "local" cause and we trust that you will help us raise an obscene amount of money for the baby unit. Please do not be too shy to forward a donation direct to us, add a donation to your entry form or make a donation on the day. We hope to hold a raffle during the year and any offer of a suitable prize would be gratefully received.


	Showground Hire Oakwood Park Showground is available for hire. This may be to host an equestrian event, a boot fair, sports day, camping ground, fun fair, motor show, etc. The list of possibilities is endless. If you require any information regarding hire of the ground then you can contact us via email or phone. Do not worry if the ground is too large for your individual requirements, we are able to offer smaller areas at reasonable rate, it is always possible to hire a corner of the field on a day that we or other users are holding an event. Our charges are realistic and we welcome the opportunity to negotiate with you.

Oakwood Park shows will continue to be friendly, professional and confidence building during the 2008 season. Riders of all abilities will be catered for and friendly help and advice is always at hand.

Our aim remains to make attending our shows, fun and educational. during 2008 we will also be hosting a number of shows for other groups; these are listed with our own dates below and are marked with an (*).

We will run clear round jumping at all of our shows, usually in the form of a clear round ring.

We are always looking for helpers to assist with the running of the shows. If you have some free time and fancy a bit of show organising or judging etc then do get in touch.
